At Lurgaboy Adventure, people matter more than activities.

Every experience we deliver is shaped by the experience, judgement, and care of the people leading it. Our team brings together qualified outdoor instructors, educators, and facilitators who share a passion for nature, learning, and positive challenge.

Richard Dougan

Founder & Lead Instructor

Richard founded Lurgaboy Adventure to create meaningful outdoor experiences that go beyond a “good day out”.

With over 20 years’ experience working across outdoor adventure, education, leadership development, and assessment, Richard has led groups of all ages in forests, mountains, rivers, and coastal environments across Northern Ireland and beyond.

Archery Instructor

First Aid trained

Experienced lecturer, assessor, and facilitator

Richard’s calm, grounded style helps people feel safe, supported, and challenged whether that’s a school group discovering confidence outdoors or a corporate team learning to communicate under pressure.

Zip wire & high ropes

All instructors:

Hold relevant NGB qualifications

Are First Aid trained

Understand safeguarding and group management
